TOPIC: DON'T BORROW TOMORROW'S TROUBLE
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” — Matthew 6:34
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- Why do you worry about tomorrow sometimes and things that have not yet happened?
Worry is often a misplaced effort. It pulls tomorrow’s uncertainties into today’s space and asks you to solve what doesn’t yet exist.
This verse is not dismissing responsibility—it is correcting misplaced focus.
When you live in tomorrow's uncertainty mentally, you weaken your capacity to live well today. Fear thrives in the “what if.” What if it goes wrong? What if things fall apart? What if I can’t handle it?
But these questions are rooted in events that are not real—at least not yet.
God’s instruction is precise: deal with today.
Beloved, you are given grace, strength, and clarity for the present moment—not for every possible future scenario. When you try to carry tomorrow’s weight today, it feels overwhelming because it has not yet been assigned to you.
See: Fear expands when you attempt to control outcomes. Peace grows when you focus on obedience in the present.
This requires discipline. Your mind will naturally drift ahead, trying to predict and prepare. But not all preparation is productive—some of it is just anxiety in disguise.
When your mind drifts, bring your attention back: What needs to be done today? What decision is actually in front of you now? What responsibility has God placed in your hands today? Focus and handle that well.
Key Takeaway
Peace comes when you stop carrying tomorrow’s uncertainties and focus on today’s responsibilities.
Precious one, tomorrow will come with its own provision, its own guidance, and its own grace. You don’t need to pre-live it.
So stay present. Stay focused. Stay dependent. Make God proud today, and today's success will unlock tomorrow.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD.
- What future concerns have been occupying your thoughts recently?
- How are those concerns affecting your present focus and actions?
- What is actually within your control today?
- How can you practice returning your mind to the present moment?
PRAYER
Father, I admit that I often carry worries about the future that I cannot control. Teach me to trust You with what is ahead and to focus on what You’ve given me today. Help me release the need to predict outcomes and instead walk in obedience step by step. Give me peace in the present and confidence that You will provide what I need when tomorrow comes. In Jesus's precious name, Amen.
