TOPIC: "NO", SAYEST THE LORD
THEME SCRIPTURE: "Go and tell my servant David, 'This is what the LORD has declared: Are you the one to build a house for me to live in?" 2 Samuel 7:5 NLT
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Does God say no sometimes to good things we want to do for Him?
David desired to build a temple for the Lord, but God said no. Although God acknowledged David's good intentions, He told him, "You are not the one to do it" (2 Chr. 6:8-9). This case in David's life offers valuable lessons for us all.
First, when God says no, it may not be a sign of rejection or punishment; it could be redirection.
Perhaps you’ve set out with good intentions, planning a certain path for your life, only to see things not turn out as you hoped. Over the years, you may have tried everything to make it work, yet it feels like you’re stuck. In these moments, it's easy to feel like you’ve missed God's will. But consider this: What if God is simply guiding you in a different direction? In our walk with Him, we need to be open to daily adjustments, asking, "Lord, is this still Your plan?" God may be leading us step by step, and sometimes, what feels like a setback is simply a stepping stone to the next season.
Second, we all have unique assignments and missions. And only God has the bigger picture of our assignment here on earth.
God has different purposes for each person. While He may call one person to build a temple, He calls another to serve as a soldier or work in the trenches. Some are sent to distant lands to represent Him. When discerning God’s plan for your life, listen carefully—He may have something entirely different in mind than what you envisioned.
Third, sometimes God’s plan is for you to support someone else in fulfilling the dreams you once had.
Just as David was told that his son, Solomon, would build the temple, God might call you to empower and encourage others in their mission. David responded by gathering materials and preparing the plans for Solomon (1 Chr. 22:1-5). This was an unselfish and supportive act. Parents, your role is often to guide and support your children, even when their path differs from your own dreams. When God redirects us, the best response is humility and cooperation.
If you’re facing broken dreams and unfulfilled hopes, precious one, trust that God has a greater plan. It may be difficult to let go of your own vision, but sometimes God calls us to support the "Solomons" in our lives, helping others achieve what we once hoped for. It takes humility to say, "I’ll support you, and may God be with you." When God redirects our paths, we must trust that His plan is better, and we are called to humbly support it.
Remain blessed

CONFESSION
Merciful Father, many times I am tempted to think that every good is acceptable to you. I am refreshed this day, knowing that your ways are higher than mine. I receive humility and sensitivity to know what the will of God is in all situations, in Jesus' precious name. Hallelujah!
