TOPIC: GOD GOES FIRST
THEME SCRIPTURE : "See, the ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth will go into the Jordan ahead of you." —Joshua 3:11
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- Is God ahead of you, or are you trying to go ahead of Him?
Joshua described the Ark as “the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of all the earth,” and then made a critical point: it would go ahead of the people into the Jordan.
God did not ask Israel to enter uncertainty alone. He went first.
This shifts how we understand faith. Faith is not leading the way and asking God to follow. It is recognizing that He has already gone ahead and choosing to move in response.
The Jordan at flood stage was intimidating, but the real focus was not the river— it was the One entering it first. The Ark moved before the people ever stepped forward. God took the initial position in the place of risk and impossibility.
Too often, we approach decisions as if everything depends on us. We analyze, calculate, and hesitate, trying to secure outcomes before acting. But the reality of God’s leadership is this: He is already present in what you are about to face.
Beloved, your role is not to create the path— it is to follow His path.
This requires a shift from control to trust. When you believe God goes first, uncertainty loses some of its weight. You are not stepping into the unknown; you are stepping into a space where God is already at work.
That doesn’t eliminate challenge, but it reframes it. The question is no longer, “Can I handle this?” but “Am I willing to follow where He leads?”
And where He leads, He sustains.
Key Takeaway
You are not called to go first—God is already ahead of you; your role is to follow with trust.
Today, remind yourself that God is already ahead of you; all things will work together for your good. Just be sensitive and follow Him.
Remain blessed.
