TOPIC: UNDIVIDED VISION FOR THE YEAR

THEME SCRIPTURE: “When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light.” — Matthew 6:22

PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:

  1. What is involved when the child of God has a divided focus?

Before Jesus addresses worry or provision, He addresses vision. A divided gaze produces a divided life. Much of our inner unrest is not caused by circumstances, but by competing loyalties.

The “eye” represents focus—what we look to for security, meaning, and direction. If our vision is split between God and lesser masters, clarity disappears.

Darkness follows not because God has withdrawn, but because attention has shifted. Athanasius wrote, “The soul becomes like what it beholds.” What captures your gaze this year will shape your character. Growth is not neutral; we are moved toward what we continually fix our eyes upon.

An undivided vision simplifies life. It does not remove complexity, but it removes confusion. When God is central, decisions gain coherence. When He is peripheral, everything competes.

This year, precious one, you will need to be focused. The reason why many people fail in life is because of broken or divided focus.

Beloved, not every opportunity is an assignment. Not every door is God’s direction. Single vision requires discernment—and sometimes, refusal. Child of God, where are you going to draw your security, strength, hope, and provisions from this year? If you are looking for your job title, savings, your business, or your properties, I am sorry for you. However, if God is your single focus for your security, strength, and source in this year, then you have light. You will climb mountains that would not move and cross rivers that won't disappear.

Remain blessed.

PRAYER

Lord of Light,

Clarify my vision and purify my desires. Expose divided loyalties and draw my heart fully toward You. Let my focus be steady, my motives clean, and my life illuminated by Your truth. Order my year under the light of Your presence. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
