TOPIC: PURE MOTIVES IN A CORRUPT WORLD
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Daniel answered, no wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery… but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.’” — Daniel 2:27–28 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What does it mean to have pure motives?
Daniel stood before one of the most powerful kings in history—and refused to take the credit. In a moment where human pride would easily seek recognition, Daniel deflected the glory to God. His motives were pure, his heart anchored not in ambition, but in worship.
In a world where self-promotion is the norm, Daniel’s humility is. He didn’t use his gift to elevate himself. He saw it as a platform to exalt God.
Augustine wisely noted, “It was pride that changed angels into devils; it is humility that makes men sons of God.”
Character is revealed not only by what we do, but by why we do it. Daniel's example invites us to ask: Why do I serve, lead, or speak? Is it to be seen? Respected? Or is it to magnify God?
God can entrust much to a person who won’t steal His glory.
When our hearts are aligned with heaven, our public witness becomes powerful. And our private is stunning purity is what produces public impact.
To those living with godly motives: keep walking in integrity. Your quiet devotion honors God more than the world will ever know.
To those who’ve drifted into self-glory: today is a fresh invitation to return. God isn't interested in perfect performance—but in surrendered motives.
You may never stand before kings, but you stand before God daily. Choose to glorify Him in every word, every task, every motive.
Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- Are my motives in service and leadership centered on God’s glory—or my own image?
PRAYER
Father, purify my heart. Help me to serve not for applause but from devotion. May all that I do reflect Your greatness, not mine. Keep me grounded in humility and anchored in truth. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
