TOPIC: NOW, LIVE IN THE HEAVENLY REALM

THEME SCRIPTURE: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ." — Ephesians 1:3 (NIV)

PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:

  1. How blessed is the man who is in Christ Jesus?

We often imagine heaven as a future destination filled with familiar comforts, magnified— a celestial version of what we most enjoy on earth. But Scripture speaks differently. Heaven isn’t just a place we go when we die— it’s a realm we belong to now, in Christ.

Paul doesn’t write “will bless” or “will seat.” He says God “has blessed us” and “raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms” (Eph. 2:6). The verbs are past tense. The reality is present.

Heavenly realms are not clouds and golden gates, but what John Stott called “the unseen world of spiritual reality.”

The heavenly realms are the dimension where God reigns, Christ intercedes, angels serve, and spiritual blessings are poured out. If we are in Christ, we are already positioned there— secure, loved, empowered.

As Augustine wrote, “God is more intimate to me than I am to myself.”

The heavenly realms are not distant; they are as near as the Spirit who indwells us. Eternal life doesn’t begin when we die— it began when Christ rose and we rose with Him.

So, what does this mean for your daily life? It means that joy, peace, wisdom, and strength aren’t reserved for “someday.” They are yours today.

As Gregory of Nazianzus said, “We are not made for earth alone; we are also citizens of heaven.”

Precious one, live like it. Draw from the riches of Christ now. The world invites us to find fulfillment in events and places— beaches, FIFA Cups, Olympics medals, Super Bowls, trophies, and titles. But spiritual reality far surpasses these. Christ Himself is your portion, and in Him, “you have been given fullness” (Col. 2:10).

Beloved, your heavenly inheritance is not delayed; it’s already unlocked. This reality doesn’t deny earthly suffering. It redefines it. We may face trials, but we do so from a position of victory, not defeat— from the throne room, not the pit. So don’t just dream of heaven. Live from it.

Remain blessed.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:

  1. What are you hoping heaven will fix that Christ has already begun to heal?
  2. In what area of your life do you need to live more consciously aware of your position in the heavenly realms?
  3. How would your perspective shift if you believed every spiritual blessing is already yours?

PRAYER

Father of Glory, thank You for blessing me with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Open the eyes of my heart to see where I am truly seated—in the heavenly realms. Let me live today in light of eternity, not just waiting for heaven, but walking in its power and joy now. Anchor me in Your unseen reality. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
