TOPIC: THE CERTAIN DAWN
THEME SCRIPTURE: “This same Jesus… will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:11)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Will Jesus truly come again after so many years since He ascended?
The disciples stood awestruck as Jesus ascended—their Savior vanishing into glory. Yet the angels’ words reframed their gaze: “He is coming back.”
The Jesus who came as a sacrificial Lamb will return as a righteous King. His first coming brought grace; His second will bring judgement (Rev 5:5-6).
For believers, this truth ignites hope. For the complacent, it sounds a warning: eternity hinges on how we respond to Him today.
Corrie ten Boom, survivor of Nazi concentration camps, lived with urgency: “The measure of a life is not its duration, but its donation.” She hid Jews, forgave guards, and preached Christ’s return—not as a distant theory, but as a daily motivator. Her question challenges us: “Are your feet shod with the gospel of peace? If not, why stand idle?”
C.S. Lewis, the oracular professor, once said, “Jesus will either be the Judge before whom we tremble or the Savior before whom we kneel—but He cannot be ignored.” Beloved, we have two ways to respond to the simple truth that Jesus is coming back.
For the faithful in Christ, “Look up!” (Luke 21:28). Your labour in Christ is not in vain (1 Cor 15:58). Serve, give, and love with eternity in view.
For the drifting, “Wake up!” (Rom 13:11). The “pleasures” of sin are brief; His judgement is eternal (Heb 11:25).
Precious one, practically, how are we to prepare for His second coming?
Firstly, let's anchor in Scripture: Starting a bible plan on Christ’s return (e.g., Matthew 24-25, 1 Thess 4) can be a great start. Let truth recalibrate your priorities. Additionally, audit your time. Each weekend, ask: “How did my choices during the week reflect readiness for His coming?” Then adjust.
The disciples didn’t stay staring at the sky—they preached, planted churches, and faced martyrdom with boldness. You are part of their legacy. Live ready. The King is coming, not to reward apathy, but to crown faithfulness. He came. He died. He rose. He reigns. He will return. Live in the “now” of His grace. God bless you more.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. What adjustments are needed in your life to align with God's truth?
2. Will you make those adjustments with God's help?
PRAYER
Lord Jesus, forgive me for clinging to temporary trinkets while neglecting Your eternal kingdom. Fix my eyes on Your return. Make my life a burning wick, not a smoldering relic. Stir me to live—and love—like today is the dawn of Your coming, in Jesus' precious name. Hallelujah!
