TOPIC: GOD WORKS WITH THE INTERCESSOR
THEME SCRIPTURE: Exodus 32:10
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What does it mean to intercede for others?
- Is it worth being an intercessor at all?
- Who can we intercede for?
Isn’t it fascinating that God is all-powerful and yet in His dealing with man He prefers to reason with him (Isaiah 1:18). It is also interesting that this all-powerful God will do nothing on earth except He reveals it to His servants the prophets (Amos 3:7). It seems, the way man understands power and uses it is different from God.
Moses was a prophet of God. Though a prophet, Moses was also an intercessor. Moses always prayed for the children of Israel (Deut 9:19). Hence, God was unable to do anything amongst the Israelites without letting Moses know. In our theme scripture, God wanted to pour out His wrath on the children of Israel. Before God could do that He needed to let Moses know and also seek his permission. So God said to Moses “Now, therefore, let Me alone…”. Why will the all-powerful God say to Moses – let Me alone (allow Me to do this without you, stand aside, or permit Me) – so He could deal with the children of Israel?
Any time God has to deal with a man He has to go through his intercessor. Thus, God sees us through our intercessors (the person standing between us and God).
Because there is an intercessor between God and you, He cannot just bypass this intercessor and deal with you.
Precious One, if the all-powerful God cannot bypass your intercessor to deal with you, how much more the devil? There is no way the devil can deal with you without going through your intercessor. Neither can he advance his course in our communities, cities, schools, and homes once there are intercessors. This is why it is sad if you are not praying for somebody and nobody is also praying for you.
This year make it a point to intercede for your spouse, children and entire family. Make time to intercede for your church, city and nation.
The more we intercede for others the more God works with us, showing us the things that concern the people we are interceding for. Praise God.
Let me share this insight with you – any time God wants to deal with you He will speak to your intercessor (if only there is one). However, when it comes to the devil, he brings hurt and confusion between you and your intercessor. This way, your intercessor will stop interceding for you (meaning now, the devil won't need your intercessor's permission). So he can easily deal with you.
An intercessor is one who grants permission to God or the devil to proceed with you, and as a result, restrain or fastrack the efforts of the devil or God in our lives.
This is why God had to talk to Moses concerning the children of Israel, to allow Him to destroy them, and yet Moses will not allow Him.
Precious One, the more you intercede for others the more God shows you (through dreams and visions) things to come, about those people, communities, churches and nations you are standing in the gap for. The intercessor becomes God’s partner in delivering his purposes and plans in our communities, nations and the lives of others.
I see you interceding for your family, city, church and nation, so they can be in the plans and purposes of God this year. Praise God.

CONFESSION
Precious Father, by Your word I have understood the importance of intercession. I commit myself today, to praying consistently not only for myself but also for so my nation, community, church, friends and family. I choose this day to work with God in ensuring that the plans and purposes of God stand supreme in the lives of those who are connected to me. I am seeing visions and dreams from God to aid me in my intercession this year, in Jesus' Precious Name. Glory to God.
