TOPIC: COURAGE IN SMALL DECISIONS
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much…” — Luke 16:10
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- Why is it the case that the one who can be trusted in little matters can, and should also be trusted with much?
We often associate courage with big, visible moments—major risks, life-changing decisions, dramatic steps of faith. But most courage is quiet. It shows up in small, daily choices that no one else sees.
This verse highlights a principle: faithfulness in little things precedes greater responsibility. The same is true for courage.
Fear doesn’t only stop big moves—it disrupts small ones. It causes hesitation in simple obedience: speaking truth, staying consistent, showing integrity, following through.
These moments may seem insignificant, but they shape who you become.
If fear can control your small decisions, it will control your larger ones.
Courage is built through repetition. Each time you choose obedience over comfort— even in minor situations —you weaken fear’s influence and strengthen your trust in God.
Think about it: the discipline to act when it’s inconvenient, the decision to do what is right when it’s unnoticed, the willingness to follow through when it’s uncomfortable—these are the foundations of a courageous life.
God is not waiting for you to prove yourself in something big. He is watching how you respond to what’s already in front of you.
Don’t underestimate the moment you’re in.
Beloved, today’s small decision is tomorrow’s established character.
Key Takeaway:
Courage is built through consistent obedience in small, everyday decisions. If you yield to fear, intimidation, and pressure and fail to do what God is prompting, you are saying that God cannot trust you with huge decisions. Huge choices.
So, today, choose to act. Choose to follow through. Choose to trust God in the ordinary.
That is
where courage in God grows.
Remain blessed.

PRAYER
Father, help me to value the small things in front of me. I confess that I often overlook simple acts of obedience, waiting for bigger moments. Teach me to be faithful where I am. Give me courage in the ordinary decisions and strength to follow through, even when it feels insignificant. Shape my character through consistency, and help me trust You in every detail. In Jesus's precious name, Amen.
