TOPIC: CATCHING THE GOD-MOMENTS
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…”
— Ephesians 5:15–16 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. How can we easily see God-sent opportunities to rebuild?
God rarely shouts; He places opportunities quietly in our path—moments charged with His presence, waiting for those who walk attentively. Scripture reveals that the difference between the ordinary believer and the history-shaping disciple is often attentiveness.
Consider Jesus' disciple Andrew at the feeding of the 5,000. Eleven disciples saw a shortage; Andrew saw a seed. God multiplied what he noticed. In Acts 8:26-40, Philip recognized a searching soul in the Ethiopian traveler and stepped into a divine appointment that would influence generations of African believers.
Barnabas, refusing to be ruled by fear, welcomed the newly converted Saul—opening the door for the apostolic ministry that shaped the New Testament. The woman with the issue of blood refused resignation; she pressed through the crowd to seize healing hidden in a passing moment.
These stories share a pattern: God’s opportunities often look small, inconvenient, risky, or easily dismissed. Yet in the hands of the attentive, they become catalysts for miracles.
Church father Augustine wrote, “God provides the wind, but man must raise the sail.”
Divine encounters are not passive; they require discernment and response. John Chrysostom observed, “Not only the large things but the least of things come from His providence.” He reminds us that the sacred often disguises itself in the simple.
The early believers trained their hearts to notice God’s movement. Brother Lawrence called it “the practice of the presence of God” —a continual awareness that every moment is a meeting place with Him.
Beloved, this is God's call to you today: Expect God to weave opportunities into every situation— interruptions, conversations, unexpected needs, chance meetings, even personal inconveniences. Heaven’s invitations are rarely labeled.
Catch all the God-moments today and be a blessing to many.
