TOPIC: LIVING WITHOUT EXCUSE
THEME SCRIPTURE: “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” —Romans 1:20 (NIV)
PREPARATORY QUESTION
- Even though God is invisible, does it mean we can't tell whether He is there or not?
God has never hidden Himself, even though He is not visible to the optical eyes. From the beginning, His fingerprints are all over creation. The intricacies of nature, the order of the universe, and the moral compass within our hearts all point to a Creator. Paul makes it clear: every person has been given enough evidence to recognize God’s existence and seek Him. The problem is not a lack of revelation— It’s a rejection of it.
Creation speaks every day, yet many ignore its message. Those who deny God do so not out of ignorance but out of resistance.
“There are only two kinds of people,” said C.S. Lewis. “Those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’” Beloved, suppressing truth comes at a high cost: spiritual blindness and eventual judgment.
But this verse is not only a warning; it’s also a call. If God’s invisible qualities are clearly seen, then we, as His people, are called to point others to that clarity. Our lives should echo what creation shouts —God is real, powerful, and worthy of our worship.
For the believer, this verse is a sober reminder that our faith is not blind. Our God is not hidden. And we are called to live in such a way that no one who watches us can use ignorance as an excuse.
For the unbeliever or the complacent, the call is urgent: look again. In sincerity, look and see your Maker. The evidence is everywhere. Don’t harden your heart. Don’t delay surrender.
God bless you more.

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
- Am I living in a way that reveals God’s nature to those around me?
- Have I taken for granted the ways God has made Himself known to me?
- How can I use creation, my story, or daily life to point others to God?
PRAYER
Creator God, I stand in awe of Your power and presence revealed in all You’ve made. Forgive me for the times I’ve been indifferent to Your voice in creation and complacent in my witness. Open my eyes to see You more clearly, and make my life a visible testimony of Your invisible qualities. Help me to live without excuse and lead others to the truth without delay. May Your glory be unmistakable in all I do. In Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
