THEME: CALLED TO HOLINESS
THEME SCRIPTURE: “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor.” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3–4 (ESV)
PREPARATORY QUESTION
1. Can a mortal man live a holy life in an unholy world?
Beloved, we have been called to holiness, not conformity. The world urges indulgence. From media to peer pressure, the message is loud: “Follow your heart. Fulfill your desires. Your body is yours.” But God says otherwise. His will is not unclear—your sanctification, a life set apart, free from the grip of sexual immorality.
Sanctification isn’t just a theological term. Sanctification is the Spirit’s work in the life of a yielded vessel.
It’s the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit to shape us into Christ’s likeness. It includes how we manage our sexual desires. Holiness isn’t outdated—it’s what we were saved for.
Paul’s words remind us that control is not repression—it is worship. To govern our bodies in “holiness and honor” is to live in reverence before God. As Athanasius once said, “He became man that we might become divine.”
Precious one, God calls us to rise above base desires, to live for higher purposes.
Sexual purity is not simply about abstinence—it’s about alignment with God’s design. Our bodies are temples (1 Cor. 6:19), not playgrounds. Our lives are offerings, not experiments in pleasure.
To live this way is a radical witness. In a culture that glorifies self-expression, self-control shines with quiet power.
Purity is not weakness. Its strength under surrender. Surrender to the Spirit of grace.
To those who feel shame: God's grace is still stronger. Your story isn’t over. As Thomas Watson wrote, “Christ came not only to break the chains of hell, but to unchain our hearts from sin.”
To those who ate blazing through life with the fire of holiness, burn for Him. You stand tall; you stand unique. And heaven is honored that you continue to abide in Him, with Him, and for Him. It is all about "Holiness unto the Lord." (Ex 28:36).
Remain blessed.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Do I view purity as God’s command—or as a burden?
2. In what areas of my life is God calling me to deeper holiness?
3. How can I practice self-control that honors God and blesses others?
PRAYER
Lord, In a world that calls wrong right, help me to love what You love and flee what You hate. I receive strength to walk in purity—not in pride, but in reverence. Where I have failed, I receive Your restoration. Where I am weak, uphold me. Sanctify my desires, and continue to help me live a life that honors You in all things, in Jesus' precious name. Hallelujah!
