TOPIC: BE HOLY; BE CLEAN
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!” (Revelation 4:8)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Why is God's holiness trumpeted so much in heaven?
John’s vision in Revelation 4 is no metaphor. The four living creatures—eyes seeing all, voices thundering—declare God’s triune holiness. The sea of glass, the emerald rainbow, the ceaseless worship: this is reality’s core. Here, sin cannot tread. Here, compromise is incinerated. The same God who declares “I will dwell in them” (2 Cor 6:16) demands, “Come out from among them!” (2 Cor 6:17). The collision is urgent: Christ is returning to a people either made holy or a people unprepared.
In 1555, Hugh Latimer and Nicholas Ridley were burned at the stake for rejecting compromise with Rome. As flames rose, Latimer cried, “Be of good cheer, Master Ridley! We shall this day light such a candle in England as will never be put out!” Their defiance mirrored the living creatures’ cry: God’s holiness outweighs all earthly alliances and all earthly gains.
Beloved, why is holiness non-negotiable in the life of the Christian?
First, it is because of eternity’s lens. The throne room of God exposes time’s brevity. Hence, resolve to live as if you will die tomorrow, yet plan as if Christ’s return is delayed a century.
The second reason is the cost of the mixture. Light cannot fellowship with darkness (2 Cor 6:14). To dabble in sin is to insult the cross.
The third is because of the imminent trumpet. Christ’s return is not gradual—it is sudden (Rev 22:12), and judgment would begin with the household of God.
Precious one, how are we going to ensure that we perfect holiness in the fear of the Lord?
The first is to do an audit. Audit Your Alliances: List relationships, habits, or idols that dull your spiritual sight. Sever ties today.
Also, let love be your motive. Do all things out of love because love is the fulfillment of the law and the prophets.
Lastly, embrace the Refiner’s fire. Pray, “Search me, God” (Psalm 139:23-24). Let the Spirit expose and purge all filthiness of the flesh and of the spirit.
Leonard Ravenhill said, “The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized in the lifetime of the opportunity.” The throne room’s door is open. Walk in. Walk clean. Time is brief—holiness is eternal.
God bless you more.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Would you make time today to audit your life to see if you are still in the faith?
2. Would you make a U-turn from all compromises and sins that have beset you today?
PRAYER
Father, Your holiness terrifies me. Forgive my bargains with darkness. Strip me of every alliance that mutes Your glory. Set me ablaze with urgency—not fear, but fierce love. Make me a living candle, unashamed before Your throne. Come, Lord Jesus. Come!. Hallelujah!
