TOPIC: LIVING IN REVERENCE BEFORE THE JUDGE OF ALL
THEME SCRIPTURE: “From His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron.” Revelation 19:15 (ESV)
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
1. Will Jesus truly come again?
A day is coming when the heavens will split, and Christ will descend—not in meekness, but in majesty. The same Jesus once judged by wicked rulers—Annas, Caiaphas, Herod, Pilate—will return to judge them and all who reject His reign.
Revelation 19 paints an unflinching picture:
“He will strike down the nations... He will rule with a rod of iron... He will release the fierce wrath of God, like juice flowing from a winepress.”
This is no metaphor to be softened. It is a divine warning.
Our generation, like others before it, has made light of God’s authority. But he is not “the man upstairs.” He is the Holy One of Israel, whose name even Orthodox Jews hesitate to speak aloud. They call Him Adonai—“Lord”—or HaShem—“The Name”—out of reverence. We would do well to recover such awe.
“God is not what you imagine or what you think you understand. If you understand, you have failed.”
Christ returns wearing the title:
“King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16).
Every knee will bow. Every tongue, whether joyfully or under judgement, will confess Him as Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).
To those who walk in reverent fear of the Lord, take heart. Your life of quiet obedience matters. The King sees. As Irenaeus declared:
“He who was the Word of God... fulfilled all righteousness. He did this for us so that we might live through Him.”
Christ is not returning to crush the faithful, but to crown them joyfully.
To the one drifting: return now. Mercy is still extended. But the time is short, and the Judge stands ready. He will not be mocked. He calls even now, precious one—repent, believe, and live. God bless you.

QUESTION TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD
1. Are you living for yourself, or are you living for God?
2. Is your life honoring Him, or does it make you flow with the world?
PRAYER
Righteous King, awaken our hearts to Your holiness. Help us to honor You with reverence and obedience. Help us to live daily in light of Your return, prepared and unashamed, in Jesus' precious name. Hallelujah!
