TOPIC: GOD’S GIFT TO MANKIND
THEME SCRIPTURE: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but has everlasting life.”– John 3:16
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What does it mean for us that a Savior, who is Christ the Lord has been born?
A story is told of a boy who had a big party for his ninth birthday. He received a lot of gifts from friends, parents and relatives and some neighbors. Among the gifts he received was a $1 bill. He was so grateful in his mind he thought of purchasing an ice cream the following day. Before he could complete his thoughts, a pious little girl suggested to him in the presence of all present, “I think you should give this note to the poor.” The little boy was not happy about that but how could he show it in the midst of such gathering. He quickly responded, “I was thinking about that. Why don’t I give it to the ice cream man to give to the poor?”
Many times when it comes to giving, we feel that we are losing dearly and someone is easily going to gain.
However, it is evident that ‘to give is the highest pleasure of true love.’ Hence, for God so loved the world that He gave. Where there is love, giving becomes a joy. When Jesus touched this earth, God’s intangible gift of love became tangible. We could see the gift and experience Him.
Beloved, a gift given must be received and Christ given by God to mankind must be received or accepted. Have you received God’s gift; have you accepted Him? Scripture reveals to us that when wise men saw His star in the east, they could not help but to look for this King who has been given to mankind. They brought gifts to worship Him. Not only must we accept Him, but also to worship Him.
Precious one, Christ is the focus as we prepare to enter into a new year. He is the reason mankind has hope, and the only reason you can have hope in the coming year.
Irrespective of what might come your way, never lose sight of God’s gift for your life. In the years ahead of you, draw nearer to Him, and worship Him deeply. Let's ask: "To you, how much is God’s gift worth?" How you treat a gift shows how you cherish or disdain it. How you cherish Jesus [not in words but in your deeds] reveals a lot about you. Jesus, therefore said, “If you love me [as God’s gift you and Master of your life], you will keep [obey, revere and stick] to my commandment (John 14:15).”
Beloved in the Lord, the love of God for your life is larger and superior; more than you can fathom.
Do you believe this? If you do, this should give you hope to carry on in Him, with Him and for Him [God]. With such love, and also such gift of God for your life, you should be able to forge ahead with hope and confidence, knowing that all things will work together for your good.
Never forget this: “For God so loved you, that He gave to you His only begotten Son. What more can you ask Him that He will not give you?” Remain blessed.

Precious Jesus, you are all I ever needed. You are my cherished treasure. I confess that without you I can do nothing. But jointly with you, all things are possible. I give myself this day to you and your course. To cherish and adore; to hold true and align with your word, all my days. Hallelujah!
