TOPIC: BE THANKFUL TO HIM
THEME SCRIPTURE: “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name.” – Psalm 100:4
PREPARATORY QUESTIONS:
- What is thanksgiving to the believer of Christ?
- Why, and for what, must we thank God?
One thing missing in the lives of many believers is enough thanksgiving to God for who He is and for everything.
The post-modern Christian has become so preoccupied with getting things from God through prayer that he has forgotten the importance of being thankful for what he already has. Thanksgiving is one’s remembrance and gratitude to God. The Passion Translation (TPT) rendition of the theme scripture says, “You can pass through His open gates with the password of praise. Come right into His presence with thanksgiving. Come bring your thanks offering to Him and affectionately bless His beautiful name.” This is just beautiful.
Beloved, learn to thank God for everything. Thank Him for the gift of life each day. Thank Him for His provision for your life, your family, your job, and the peace in your home. Thank God for bringing you through the year to the end
In all things, give thanks to God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph 5:20), including our challenges, adversaries, and yet-to-be answered prayers. It is the man who has faith in God who praises Him while going through the valley of the shadow of death. Do you know that in the armoury of God, praise is one of the most potent spiritual weapons. In prison, Paul and Silas prayed and sang praise to God, and the other prisoners heard them worship (Acts 16:25). Suddenly there was an earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. The doors of the prisons and the chains of the prisoners were immediately loosened (Acts 6:26).
Precious one, thank God each day of your life because His merciful kindness is great towards you (Psalm 117:1-2). Since God dwells in the praise of His people, the more you praise Him, the more you are invoking His presence (Psalm 22:3). Sincere praise and thanksgiving are pleasing to the Almighty (Psalm 69:30–31). We are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand, so let us bow down and worship the Most High. He is our God (Psalm 95:6-7).
Beloved in Christ, learn to worship God in the beauty of holiness. It takes a pure heart and clean lips to worship a holy God.
Don’t just sing songs about Jesus; sing to Jesus. The difference is profound. Do not draw near to God with your mouth and honor Him with your lips; yet your heart is far from Him, and His reverence is not with you (Isa 29:13). Always thank God. Today, thank Him, worshipping Him with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord. Hallelujah!

QUESTIONS TO HELP YOU MEDITATE ON THE WORD:
- How thankful have you been to God lately?
- Should you not spend time today to express enough thanks to God for who He is, and for everything?
CONFESSION
Precious Father, you are my God, King and Lord. You are my life and length of days. I am grateful for being God, and also for everything you have done for me. You have drawn me to yourself, I am thankful. You have made my life so beautiful, thank you. I laid down and I slept. I woke up this morning and you had sustained me. Thank you forever more.
